I am going to Australia mid February for a period between a month and two months (most likely only one month). I am staying with my cousin. How much money do I need to take with me? It will cover transportation within Australia, going out, a little shopping may be, etc.

I would budget for $100 aussie dollars per day. This will cover trips, some contribution to your cousins food/petrol etc while you are here, a few nights out. Absolute minimum you could probably get away with half that - but you would wish you had more!
